இசைப்புயலுக்கு மற்றொரு அங்கீகாரம்!

தகப்பனாரின் இழப்பினால் சிறு வயதிலேயே குடும்பப் பொறுப்பை ஏற்று பல சோதனைகளையும் கடந்து வீறு நடை போடுகிறார் ரஹ்மான். கடின உழைப்புக்கு மற்றொரு பெயர் ரஹ்மான் என்று சொல்லலாம். அவரின் உழைப்பை ஹாலிவுட் அங்கீகரித்துள்ளது. ஆம். ஹாலிவுட்டின் மிக உயர்ந்த விருதான 'கோல்டன் குளோப்' விருது ரஹ்மானுக்கு கிடைத்திருக்கிறது. வழக்கம் போல் 'எல்லாப் புகழும் இறைவனுக்கே!' என்று கூறியுள்ளார். 'இது இந்திய நாட்டுக்கு கிடைத்த அங்கீகாரம்' என்றும் கூறியுள்ளார்.

இன்று தொலைக்காட்சியில் சஹாரா சேனலில் இது பற்றிய அறிவிப்பு வந்தவுடன்தான் எனக்கும் இது விபரம் தெரிய வந்தது. இவ்வளவு புகழ் அடைந்தாலும் தலைக்கனம் கொஞ்சம் கூட இல்லாமல் மிக எளிமையாக இருப்பதுதான் இவரின் வெற்றிக்கு அடிப்படையே! ராஜா இது விஷயத்தில் ரஹ்மானிடம் கொஞ்சம் பாடம் எடுக்க வேண்டும்.

'ஏழுஸ்வரங்களுக்குள்' 'பொன்மாலைப் பொழுது' 'என்ன சொல்லப் போகிறாய்' என்று பலரின் இசைகளையும் அவ்வப்போது கேட்பதுண்டு. இஸ்லாம் தடுத்ததினால் இசையை தவிர்ந்து கொள்ள எவ்வளவோ முயன்றாலும் அவ்வப்போது என்னையும் அறியாமல் இசை என்னை ஆட்கொண்டு விடுகிறது.

நியூயார்க்: பிரபல இசை அமைப்பாளர் ஏ.ஆர்.ரகுமானுக்கு ஹாலிவுட்டின் மிக உயரிய விருதுகளில் ஒன்றாக கருதப்படும் "கோல்டன் குளோப்' விருது கிடைத்துள்ளது. இந்த விருதைப் பெரும் முதல் இந்தியர் என்ற பெருமையையும் ரகுமான் பெற்றுள்ளார்.பிரபல இசை அமைப்பாளர் ஏ.ஆர்.ரகுமான், "ஸ்லம்டாக் மில்லினர்'என்ற ஹாலிவுட் படத்திற்கு இசை அமைத்திருந்தார். ஹாலிவுட் இயக்குனர் டானி பாயல் இந்த படத்தை இயக்கி இருந்தார்.

குரோர்பதி நிகழ்ச்சி : படிப்பறிவற்ற ஒரு ஏழைச் சிறுவன், குரோர்பதி நிகழ்ச்சியில் கலந்து கொண்டு கோடீஸ்வரனாவதைப் பற்றிய கதை அம்சம் கொண்டதாக இந்த படம் எடுக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தது.இந்த படத்திற்கு இசை அமைத்ததற்காக, ஹாலிவுட்டின் மிக உயரிய விருதுகளில் ஒன்றாக கருதப்படும் "கோல்டன் குளோப்' விருது ரகுமானுக்கு கிடைத்துள்ளது. கலிபோர்னியாவில் இந்த விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. இந்த விருதைப் பெறும் முதல் இந்தியர் என்ற பெருமையும் ரகுமானுக்கு கிடைத்துள்ளது. இதைத் தவிர, சிறந்த இயக்குனர், சிறந்த திரைக்கதைக்கான விருதுகள் உள்ளிட்ட நான்கு விருதுகள் "ஸ்லம்டாக் மில்லினர்' படத்திற்கு கிடைத்துள்ளது.

கலிபோர்னியாவில் உள்ள பெவர்லி ஹில்சில் நடந்த விழாவில், இந்த விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன. "கோல்டன் குளோப்' விருது பெற்றது குறித்து ரகுமான் கூறுகையில்,"என்னால் நம்பவே முடியவில்லை. இந்த விருது எனக்கு கிடைக்காது என நினைத்தேன். ஆனால், கிடைத்து விட்டது. என்னை இதுபோன்ற பெருமைக்கு ஆளாக்கிய கடவுளுக்கு நன்றி. இயக்குனர் டானி பாயல், சென்னை மற்றும் மும்பையில் உள்ள என் இசைக்குழுவினர், கோடிக்கணக்கான இந்திய மக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி தெரிவிக்க விரும்புகிறேன்' என்றார்.ஸ்டார் பாக்ஸ் ஸ்டூடியோ நிறுவனம் இந்த படத்தை விரைவில் இந்தியாவில் வெளியிட உள்ளது.

அந்நிறுவனத்தின் தலைமை நிர்வாகி விஜய் சிங் மும்பையில் கூறுகையில்,"ரகுமானுக்கு விருது கிடைத்துள்ளது, இந்தியர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் பெருமையான விஷயம். ரகுமான் என்னிடம் கூறுகையில், இந்த விருது இந்தியாவுக்கு கிடைத்துள்ள பரிசு என்று கூறினார். இதன்மூலம் சர்வதேச திரைப்பட அரங்கில், இந்தியாவுக்கு பெருமை கிடைத்துள்ளது' என்றார்.

NEW DELHI: The underdog ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has ended as the top dog at the Golden Globe awards with the film winning all the four awards it was nominated for. Popular composer A.R. Rahman became the first Indian to get the Golden Globe for the Best Original Score. Director Danny Boyle’s film, that relates the tale of an orphan from Mumbai winning a game show, also won the Golden Globe for the Best Director, Best Drama and the Best Adapted Screenplay.

“I am so happy to have won this award not because I needed it but because [I] have fulfilled a wish of all the music lovers in India to bring home a Golden Globe,” Mr. Rahman said. “I want to thank the Almighty for making this possible and am grateful for all the love and prayers from all my fans, friends and family. It is a score which blurs the line between songs and a score. That is one of the reasons for it becoming very addictive for the viewers.”

Actor Anil Kapoor, who has won acclaim for his portrayal of Prem, a quiz show host in the film, said the awards were completely unexpected.

“The awards for the film have come as a huge surprise. But with Rahman there is no surprise. He is known for original work.”

Popular actor Irrfan Khan, who plays a police inspector in the film, said, “I have been a fan of Rahman all through. I have never heard a better bhajan than ‘Tumre bin …’ He has out-done himself here. He deserves much more.”

Commenting on Rahman’s great success, seasoned poet-lyricist Gulzar who has penned one of the songs for ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ said, “It means so much for all of us, and for Indian music. Rahman has brought film music to the global stage.” Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt felt there was something predestined about Rahman’s success. “A man with such talent had to make his presence felt in the global arena. He had the appetite to go beyond the matrix of Tamil and Hindi cinema. He delivered when the opportunity presented itself. The world will take Indian film music more seriously now.”

Interestingly, actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar, who plays gangster Javed in the film, auditioned for the small role. “Danny [Boyle] was like a baby on the set, always excited to know something more. It is this innocence which reflects in the film and is sweeping the world off its feet.” Mahesh agrees it is ironical that the subject was not taken up by an Indian production house. “I wanted to do it but by then the rights were sold.”

Audience appreciation
Fellow actor Madhur Mittal, who plays Salim in the film, said, “We are all proud of the awards it has got but the audiences’ appreciation that had come our way means much more. We also got the People’s Choice Award in Toronto. As for Rahman, I had worked with him earlier in ‘One Two ka Four.’ Here his music score is in sync with the film. It is one of his best works.”

The film is based on Indian author-diplomat Vikas Swarup’s book ‘Q and A.’
The success at the Golden Globe has upped the expectations. “We might just be one shot away from the Oscars now,” said actor Irrfan Khan.
